String Teacher

Lizbe du Toit (Ferreira) was born in Colesberg starting piano lessons at the age of 3. She started her violin journey with Jack de Wet in Port Elizabeth when she was 9.

She was a member of the Stellenbosch University Symphony orchestra form 1980 and joined the Stellenbosch University String Ensemble in 1983 under baton of Eric Rycroft. She was a member of the South African National Youth orchestra from 1980 to 1984.

She obtained a BMus ed degree in 1887 and during her time at Stellenbosch played with CPO, NPO and various orchestras and ensembles nationally.

She started her teaching career at Rustenburg Girls Junior School in Cape Town in 1990 teaching part time at Beau Soleil. After teaching at Rustenburg for 10 years she took on the world as a music teacher nationally and internationally. She is passionate about teaching individual students, ensembles and orchestras.
